Smart Works

“I attended Smart Works Coffee and Connect event in Glasgow city centre which was very well attended with lots of exciting and positive conversations with inspiring partners.

Wonderful charity that offers free clothing and coaching for women to help them back into employment.

69% of women who go to Smart Works are successful in getting a job within a month.

Looking forward to Carys coming along to do a presentation for The Scottish Pantry Network”

Poverty Alliance Conference

“I attended The Poverty Alliance Annual Conference 2024 – Making Change Happen on the 29th November 2024 at the EICC, Edinburgh.

Morning workshops were an opportunity to explore how we build successful campaigns, looking at tactics and opportunities to build a strong movement around core priorities. I attended ‘Grassroots up: getting our communities organised’ which prompted excellent discussions.

Afternoon sessions focussed on What are we fighting for? The key issues facing the anti-poverty sector and what campaigning options will be most effective in meeting these pressing challenges?

Excellent conference with challenging workshop topics with thought provoking questions which generated meaningful discussion. Thanks to Chair; Peter Kelly, Poverty Alliance Chief Executive for chairing a hugely successful Poverty Alliance Conference.”
