The Scottish Pantry Network has teamed up with Kinkell Farm Partnership to develop “GlasGrow Farm Fresh Project”

Two years ago, we discovered our shared vision of making fresh, healthy, and nutritious food accessible to all. From this, we crafted a pilot project proposal which has lead to successful funding. Over the next three years, Kinkell Farm will partner with us to grow and supply farm-fresh, seasonal vegetables for The Courtyard Pantry in Glasgow.

Located in Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, Kinkell Farm is a family-run farm, the no-dig market garden is managed by Claire and David Hosie. Their naturally grown produce, free of chemical pesticides and fertilisers, promotes soil health, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. We’re thrilled to bring their “farm to fork” produce to our Pantry customers.

Our shared goal is to create a sustainable food system, providing healthy food to those in need while fostering community engagement and social responsibility. The Farm Project will develop a new no-dig market garden at Kinkell Farm, with 50 beds for seasonal vegetables and herbs, freshly harvested and delivered to the Pantry weekly. Claire and David will also train volunteers, supporting knowledge transfer and employability projects in agriculture.

Exciting times ahead! Stay tuned for more updates from β€œThe GlasGrow Farm Fresh Project”.
