Scotland’s Annual Homelessness conference
We began November by attending Scotland’s Annual Homelessness Conference in Perth, where we were delighted to be among the 250 guests and hear our own Chief Executive Officer, Mandy Morgan, speak. Our first sofa session, “Be More Human,” was both uplifting and entertaining. As much as food may have appeared to be unrelated to the day’s theme, we were pleased to demonstrate the interconnectedness of the two challenges through their mutual demand for you to be more human .
Challenge Poverty Week
As part of Challenge Poverty Week we attended an event in Parkhead promoting awareness of the pantry model, Great conversations with pantry members and partners. Strengthened our links with Health Improvement colleagues . Our pantry hubs are good vehicles for delivery of a range of health improvement measures to support our communities
Glasgow Food Summit 2023
September 2023 Glasgow Food Summit. A busy day for the team promoting the pantry model at the Glasgow Food Summit hosted in Glasgow City Chambers. Good to share practice from Glasgow , UK and beyond. Our CEO Mandy co presented on the innovative partnership with Thrive Under 5 , Alexandra Rose and the Ruchazie Pantry . A good measure of how far we have come since the last Food Summit in 2019 but also opportunity to reflect on how much we still need to do.
